Tuesday, October 16th, 2012
Students from Moon Area High School got a once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch open-heart surgery at Pittsburgh's Allegheny General Hospital -- and they also got some tips on how they can avoid a future date with the heart surgeon. AGH cardiac surgeon Dr. Thomas Maher told the high schoolers that knowing their family history and not smoking are the most important first steps. Michelle Wright of WTAE-TV was on hand to observe this true learning experience.
