AKMC Cardiologist Discusses Chest Pain

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Natrona Heights, Pa., – The PriorityCare program at Alle-Kiski Medical Center (AKMC) will host John Balacko, MD, for a presentation, “Heartburn or Heart Attack: Understanding Chest Pain” on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 6 p.m. in the Charles W. Young Conference Center at the hospital in Harrison.
Learning to tell the difference between heartburn and something more serious may be a matter of life and death. Chest pain isn’t a disease; it’s a symptom. Knowing when to see the doctor and what symptoms to report may be the key to saving your life.

Dr. Balacko will explain the causes of chest pain and what’s involved in the evaluation and treatment of chest pain as it relates to the heart.

Dr. Balacko, board certified in cardiology, practices with Tri-County Cardiology in Natrona Heights and Lower Burrell.

The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Charles W. Young Conference Center at the main hospital campus in Harrison. Call 724-226-7339 to register or e-mail: kgiovann@wpahs.org.
