In celebration of national Donate Life Month, Allegheny General Hospital's Transplant Program brought families of organ donors, living donors and transplant recipients together for a beautiful ceremony recognizing all of those who have bestowed the gift of life to another human being through organ donation. AVH Specialist Discusses Diabetes Kidney Health

Natrona Heights, Pa., –The PriorityCare program of Allegheny Valley Hospital (AVH) will host “Diabetes and Your Kidneys” presented by Uma Kannapadi, MD on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Charles W. Young Conference Center, at the hospital in Harrison.
Dr. Kannapadi will provide an overview of the relationship between diabetes and kidney disease. Representatives from DaVita, a dialysis provider, will be on hand to answer questions about dialysis resources in our area.
Dr. Kannapadi is a nephrologist certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. A member of AVH’s medical staff, she practices with Partners in Nephrology and Endocrinology.
