Pledge the Gift of Life

Each year, the lives of thousands of people across the country are saved because someone made the choice to become an organ donor. In April, Allegheny Health Network is honored to celebrate National Donate Life Month and pay tribute to all of those who have bestowed the precious gift of life to another through organ donation. AKMC Opens New Outpatient Care Center in Vandergrift

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Natrona Heights, Pa., - Alle-Kiski Medical Center (AKMC) today announced the opening of its new Outpatient Care Center in Vandergrift. Located in the Wilson Square Professional Building, the Center offers the residents of the Kiski Valley convenient access to health care services including diagnostic testing, such as routine X-rays, cardiac studies, a blood draw station and sleep lab center. The Center will also offer community health education classes.

Responding to the national trend to move health care services into the community, AKMC chose to locate the Center in the Kiski Valley and closer to home for many of the patients the hospital serves.

“The new Outpatient Care Center in Vandergrift provides us with the opportunity to better serve the people who live and work in the Kiski Valley,” said William Englert, Vice President, Operations and Business Development at AKMC. “In the past, residents in this community would need to travel to AKMC’s main campus in Natrona Heights. With the opening of the new Center, patients can get routine diagnostic testing done closer to home and closer to many of their physician’s offices.”

The two-level design of the 15,000 square foot professional building on Longfellow Street makes accessibility from both the upper and lower levels easy and provides close and convenient parking for patients and customers. AKMC’s Outpatient Care Center is located on the lower level of the building. The upper level houses the physician offices of Mohan M. Patel, MD and Michael C. Ong, MD and the Vandergrift Pharmacy.

The Outpatient Care Center in Vandergrift is one of three centers offering convenient access to diagnostic services in an outpatient setting owned and operated by AKMC. AKMC also offers outpatient services in New Kensington at the site of the former Citizens General Hospital and at Radiological Imaging on Freeport Road in Natrona Heights. In addition, AKMC has blood draw stations in Lower Burrell and Natrona Heights and an outpatient physical and occupational therapy center in the Heights Plaza.
