MSN Money: Margaret McCormick Barron named to post at West Penn

Margaret McCormick Barron has been named executive vice president of external affairs at the West Penn Allegheny Health System, the hospital network announced on Monday.

Barron has served as vice president of legislative affairs at West Penn Allegheny since 2003 and in her new role, she will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with public officials to gain fiscal and legislative support for the region’s second largest hospital network.

“Peg brings a wealth of experience to this important senior leadership position, which is charged with aligning our internal and external messaging to enhance the organization’s image and build understanding among our various constituencies,” West Penn Allegheny President and CEO Christopher Olivia said in a prepared statement.
