Thoracic surgeons at Pittsburgh's Allegheny General Hospital are using the advanced da Vinci robotic surgical system to perform minimally invasive lung cancer surgery, offering new hope to patients with early stage lung cancer who may not be good candidates for a more invasive operation. Noted Presidential Historian Michael Beschloss Featured at Allegheny General Hospital Cardiovascular Institute Sixth Annual Speaker Series, Oct. 23

Bestselling author will discuss book on Jacqueline Kennedy at benefit event
PITTSBURGH – Award-winning historian and writer Michael Beschloss will provide a unique look into the life of Jacqueline Kennedy at the sixth annual Allegheny General Hospital Cardiovascular Institute Speaker Series, Tuesday, Oct. 23 at AGH’s George J. Magovern, MD, Conference Center.
At “An Evening with Michael Beschloss,” the New York Times bestselling author will discuss the making of “Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy,” co-authored with Caroline Kennedy.
Recently-surfaced rare audio interviews in which Jackie, one of our country’s most fascinating and beloved First Ladies, spoke about her relationship with President John F. Kennedy form the basis of Beschloss’s critically acclaimed book.
Author of nine highly acclaimed books on the U.S. presidency and American politics, Beschloss weaves colorful anecdotes with brilliant inside analysis. He is a frequent guest on “Meet the Press,” “Today,” and “PBS NewsHour”
The Speaker Series begins at 6 p.m. with a sponsors and patrons cocktail/hors d’oeuvres reception with Beschloss, followed by his lecture presentation at 7:30 p.m. and a dessert reception at 8:30 p.m.
