West Penn Allegheny Health System Awards athenahealth Strategic Revenue Cycle Management Contract

PITTSBURGH, PA and WATERTOWN, MA – athenahealth, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHN), a leading provider of web-based practice management, electronic health record (EHR), and patient communication services to medical groups, today announced that West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) has selected athenahealth’s web-based revenue cycle management service, athenaCollector®, for its Physician Organization. athenahealth will support the approximately 600 physicians of the WPAHS multispecialty group practice, giving the WPAHS Physician Organization access to patient, financial, and operational information to help improve quality and efficiency.

According to Dr. Kurtz, implementing this solution across the entire Physician Organization will also provide a significant cost savings over the next few years.
