Celebrating the Ultimate Gift of Life -- Through Organ Donation
In celebration of national Donate Life Month, Allegheny General Hospital's Transplant Program brought families of organ donors, living donors and transplant recipients together for a beautiful ceremony recognizing all of those who have bestowed the gift of life to another human being through organ donation. North Hills Patch.com: Ross Township Woman Leads Clothing Drive for the Homeless

Erica Just's "Keep them Warm" program collected and distributed donated coats and medical information at the Pleasant Valley Shelter for Men on Pittsburgh’s North Side on Monday, Nov. 19.
Just is the project coordinator at STAR (Simulation, Teaching and Academic Research) Center at West Penn Allegheny Health System. The donations differ from the usual winter clothing drive in that WPAHS interns, residents and physicians as well as STAR personnel also talked about medical issues facing the homeless, such as flu prevention and frostbite.
