"Divabetic" event at West Penn Hospital aimed at helping women with diabetes stay positive and upbeat

What: “Divabetic,” an afternoon of activities including fitness and cooking demonstrations, a panel discussion with doctors and dietitians from Joslin Diabetes Center at West Penn Hospital, Mary Kay makeovers and more.
“Divabetic” was founded by Max Szadek in honor of his boss, the late R&B legend Luther Vandross. Max says he is on a mission to change attitudes in women affected with diabetes.
Max will be available for interviews.

When: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5

Where: West Penn Hospital, Wintergarden Conference Center, enter at South Millvale Street between Friendship and Liberty avenues.

Why: The incidence of diabetes is on the rise nationally. “Divabetic” helps women with diabetes stay healthy and upbeat.
