More than 130 children from various communities on Pittsburgh’s Northside will celebrate the Christmas season on Saturday, December 10, 2011 with a special holiday party hosted by Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and a number of community partners.

Participants, who are invited by the Northside Leadership Conference and other Northside neighborhood groups, will enjoy a hot breakfast, a visit with Santa, Christmas caroling and holiday cheer. The children, who range in age from infants to 10 years, will have chances to win prizes by playing a variety of carnival-style games and make crafts, Christmas cards and “reindeer food.” Each attendee with also receive a special gift from St. Nick.

The party will be held in 4 Allegheny Center in space donated by Allegheny Center Alliance Church and refreshments, activities and gifts for the children were made possible by contributions from the AGH Auxiliary, the Hospital’s medical staff and a number of hospital administrators and employees. About 20 AGH employees and their family members volunteer to staff the event.
