Pittsburgh Business Times: James Dickey, a partner in South Hills Eye Associates, invests in WPAHS outpatient center

For eye surgeon James Dickey, the best of all worlds is having the backing of a big hospital network and a private management company with a shareholder’s say in how things are run.

Dickey, a partner in South Hills Eye Associates, is among the first doctors to invest in West Penn Allegheny Health System’s new outpatient surgery center in Peters Township. The 10,880-square-foot surgery center is part of a much larger, $14 million medical complex that will include medical imaging, radiation and medical oncology, and offices for medical specialists. Some physician offices already have opened, and the surgery center is scheduled to open in the fall.
