Highmark® Personal Nutrition Coaching
This program empowers the individual to sustain healthy lifestyle changes by assisting with setting goals, better food selection and meal planning. This one-on-one counseling session is facilitated by a registered dietitian and is designed to address the nutritional changes needed to manage heart disease, diabetes, weight management and other health related issues. Sessions are by appointment only. There is no fee for Highmark members to participate in this program; a nominal fee for non-Highmark members. Call 724-274-5202 today for appointment/details.

HOPESM   ®Highmark   Osteoporosis Prevention & Education series begins
2 – 3:30 p.m.
Develop stronger bones for a lifetime! This take-action lifestyle improvement program focuses on making healthy choices to improve bone health and prevent or manage osteoporosis. You’ll learn how to establish a comprehensive bone-building plan that includes nutrition, supplements, strength training exercises, stress management and much more. Restless Legs Syndrome support group

Up to 10 percent of the population in the United States is living with Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) – a disruptive neurological disorder that results in an irresistible urge to move the legs. Seek local support and find help in dealing with RLS or help make a difference for others living with restless legs syndrome. BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR RENEWAL
5 - 9 p.m.
If you have a current course completion card for a healthcare provider CPR class in the last two years, you can take the renewal course. You must present your current card the day of class. This class covers the information in the healthcare provider class in an abbreviated format. Upon course completion, participants receive a card valid for two years. Fee: $30/student (includes required student manual). Call to register at

Caring For Your Kidneys
6 – 7 p.m.
Your kidneys play an important role in keeping you healthy. Located in the middle of your back, just below your rib cage, your kidneys filter blood and remove waste products and extra water, producing urine. If your kidneys do not remove these wastes, they can build up in your blood and cause grave damage to your body. Join nephrologist, Uma Kannapadi, MD from Renal Endocrine Associates in Natrona Heights, for a free lecture focusing on how to care for your kidneys. Baby Care basics

During this class, parents-to-be will be taught about infant feeding, circumcision, selecting a pediatrician, newborn behavior and soothing techniques. Tai Chi for Beginners series begins

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that promotes well being by circulating the “chi”, or energy, of the body through a series of slow, relaxing and controlled movements. Heartsaver First Aid with AED/CPR Parts one & two
Pt one: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. / Pt two: 1 – 4 p.m.
This is now a two-part class. Part one, the first aid course, includes basic first aid; part two includes adult, child and infant CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage. A certification card given after completion of skills and written testing and is valid for two years. Fee: $35 per part (required student manual included). To receive the $50 discounted price, you must attend both parts. Call to register at 724-274-5202. Space is limited. Maximum 8 attendees.
 
Heartsaver AED/CPR
1 – 4 p.m.
This course includes adult, child and infant CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage. Relief of choking in the adult, child and infant victim also included. A course completion card valid for two years will be given after skills and written testing.  Fee: $35 (student manual included). Call to register at 724-274-5202. Space is limited. AARP Driver’s Safety One Day Class
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Tune up your driving skills and learn how to adjust to age-related driving changes. Also discover how to receive insurance discounts. Look Good…Feel Better free workshop
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
A Look Good…Feel Better free workshop is an opportunity to meet other women who are facing appearance-related side effects from their cancer treatment. Come share in this positive experience and learn ways to cope with hair loss and special techniques in
make-up application – both taught by licensed cosmetologists. You will come away with a complementary set of cosmetics and feeling better because you look good!

Joslin Diabetes Center’s Self Management Education two-day evening series
5 - 8 p.m. both days
This comprehensive program is designed for individuals with diabetes who are interested in learning how to manage their diabetes, prevent complications, eat healthfully and control blood sugar levels. There are two classes in this series that occur once for two consecutive weeks. *Participants must attend both classes. Yoga for Beginners

Yoga offers tools to help you step into spring with ease and vitality, no matter what shape you are in. Discover the power of breath, laughter, and focused concentration. Adaptable postures increase strength and flexibility.  Join Arlene Mercurio of the Songbird Center as she teaches you to practice the skill of relaxation and how to integrate it into your daily life. Please wear non-binding clothing and bring a small blanket and towel.  Please eat lightly three hours before class.  Fee: $25/ person for the four-week series.
