Celebrating the Ultimate Gift of Life -- Through Organ Donation
In celebration of national Donate Life Month, Allegheny General Hospital's Transplant Program brought families of organ donors, living donors and transplant recipients together for a beautiful ceremony recognizing all of those who have bestowed the gift of life to another human being through organ donation. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Does science know how to treat traumatized children?

Studies have shown that there's no one-size fits all solution to helping children recover from emotional trauma. However, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy -- developed in part by Judith Cohen and Anthony Mannarino at Allegheny General Hospital -- did get good marks for its step-by-step approach of relaxing the child, teaching coping strategies and visualization to control disturbing thoughts and helping the child construct a personal story about what happened.
