Pledge the Gift of Life

Each year, the lives of thousands of people across the country are saved because someone made the choice to become an organ donor. In April, Allegheny Health Network is honored to celebrate National Donate Life Month and pay tribute to all of those who have bestowed the precious gift of life to another through organ donation. Visit AHNdonate.org to learn more and register to be an organ donor.

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

By Steve Twedt, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The West Penn Allegheny Health System today reported a $2.7 million net profit in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, though it also had a $2.3 million operating loss. Second quarter revenue increased $4.1 million compared with the same quarter a year ago.

The health system's fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31.

Officials noted that a year ago, WPAHS had a net loss of $5.6 million and $9.1 million in operating losses, prompting President and CEO Christopher T. Olivia to say the health system is "on the path from stability to security."
