Hundreds to Walk Saturday to Benefit Colon and Rectal Cancer Patients at West Penn Allegheny Health System's Big Blue Quest

West Penn Allegheny Health System’s eighth annual Big Blue Quest is a 5K fun run and 2K walk that benefits colon and rectal cancer awareness and research. Cancer survivors, family and friends are expected to participate, and all proceeds benefit the WPAHS Center for Colon and Rectal Surgery.

WHEN: 5k Run starts at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 16 and the 2K Fun Walk starts at 9:45 a.m. Awards ceremony is held at 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: South Ridge (pool area) of North Park.

WHY: Cancers of the colon and rectum are among the most common in the United States, with colorectal cancer being the No. 2 cause of cancer death among men and women.
