AKMC Offers Medical Scholarship Grants

Natrona Heights, Pa., - The Medical Staff at Alle-Kiski Medical Center (AKMC) is offering two $2,500 Medical Scholarship Grants to students enrolled in an approved American Medical or Osteopathic school. 

Eligible applicants must be residents of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, or Westmoreland counties and have not received a prior AKMC Medical Scholarship Grant. A letter must be submitted to request scholarship consideration, explaining why he/she should be awarded the grant. In addition, applicants are required to have a letter sent from their educational institution stating they are in good standing. Letters may be sent to:

Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Medical Staff Office, Medical Scholarship Grant, 1301 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 or faxed to 724-226-7464.

This is the sixteenth year for the award. An awards committee consisting of three members of the AKMC Medical Staff will choose an applicant based on scholarship need and/or interest.

Alle-Kiski Medical Center is a 258-bed facility that offers today’s sophisticated technologies in the caring atmosphere of the community setting and an Ambulatory Care Center, providing diagnostic and therapeutic services at a convenient site. The hospital’s broad spectrum of specialties includes cardiology, gynecology, oncology, gastroenterology and orthopaedic surgery. The outpatient satellite campus in New Kensington also offers PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanning as well as outpatient chemotherapy.
