Pledge the Gift of Life

Each year, the lives of thousands of people across the country are saved because someone made the choice to become an organ donor. In April, Allegheny Health Network is honored to celebrate National Donate Life Month and pay tribute to all of those who have bestowed the precious gift of life to another through organ donation. Visit AHNdonate.org to learn more and register to be an organ donor.

Inpatient obstetrics services at Allegheny General Hospital will be moved to West Penn Hospital, and its inpatient psychiatric programs will be relocated to the Alle-Kiski Medical Center and the West Penn Hospital -- Forbes campuses.

The announcement was made in a memo sent to West Penn Allegheny Health System staff yesterday morning by Dawn Gideon, executive vice president and chief of hospital operations.

The moves, expected to be completed within a year, are designed to free up space at AGH "to accommodate the hospital's busy critical care program and the significant need for additional critical care beds in the City of Pittsburgh," the memo said.
