Alle-Kiski Medical Center Employees Participate in Annual Relay for Life

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Natrona Heights, Pa., - On June 13, a team of Alle-Kiski Medical Center (AKMC) employees known as the AKMC Laurels will participate in the annual Relay for Life at Highlands High School. The event lasts for 24 hours and gives people an opportunity to commemorate cancer survivors, pay tribute to those who have died, and raise money for cancer research.

The AKMC Laurels Relay Team has met their goal of raising $10,000 by organizing candy sales, basket raffles, among several other projects. Over 79 AKMC employees and/or family members are participating in the relay. Those interested in participating can join in for the Opening Ceremonies, walk or run for a one-hour shift, or be involved in multiple shifts throughout the 24-hour period. Any interested parties can call Brian Law at 724-226-7054 Ext. 2 or Deborah Wichrowski at 724-226-7054, Ext. 3, in order to join in the ongoing fight and struggle against cancer.
