Occupation: Director of Primary Sports Medicine Fellowships at Allegheny General Hospital in the North Side, which works with 23 athletic trainers at 14 area high schools

Education: Bachelor's degrees in chemistry and math from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster; master's in engineering from Columbia University; doctor of medicine from the Penn State University College of Medicine; fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine; residency at St. Margaret's Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh

Background: Snell has worked in all levels of athletic training for the past 15 years. He has been a member of the sports medicine advisory committee of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association for 10 years and was elected president of Major League Baseball's Team Physicians Association in May. He has been a team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates for 10 years. He was head team physician for Duquesne University and has been the medical co-director of the athletic training program for 15 years.
