Pittsburgh Business Times: West Penn's Olivia named to board of foundation radiology group

West Penn Allegheny Health System President and CEO Dr. Christopher Olivia has been named to the board of directors of Downtown-based Foundation Radiology Group.

"Dr. Olivia*s experience, insights and leadership as both a doctor and businessman will be invaluable to our organization," Foundation Radiology Chairman and CEO Dr. Brandon Chan said in a prepared statement. Foundation Radiology was founded in 2006 and the company provides around the clock interpretation of medical scans, including MRI, CT and X-rays for small to mid-size hospitals in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Earlier this year, the company*s first private equity campaign generated $10 million in venture capital, which will allow additional hiring this year. Foundation anticipates $24 million in revenue this year, up from $8.4 million in 2008.

Olivia was hired by West Penn Allegheny in 2008 and has focused on reorganization of the region*s second biggest hospital network, second to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Previously, he was president and CEO of the Cooper Health System in Camden N.J.
