Celebrating the Ultimate Gift of Life -- Through Organ Donation
In celebration of national Donate Life Month, Allegheny General Hospital's Transplant Program brought families of organ donors, living donors and transplant recipients together for a beautiful ceremony recognizing all of those who have bestowed the gift of life to another human being through organ donation. A new study linking obesity in teens with cognitive impairments gives families much food for thought. Allegheny General psychologist Michael Franzen, PhD and pediatrician Tatanisha Smith, MD agree that parents should take a serious look at how dietary improvements could impact their children's overall quality of life.
