Pledge the Gift of Life

Each year, the lives of thousands of people across the country are saved because someone made the choice to become an organ donor. In April, Allegheny Health Network is honored to celebrate National Donate Life Month and pay tribute to all of those who have bestowed the precious gift of life to another through organ donation. Visit AHNdonate.org to learn more and register to be an organ donor.

AVH Updates Wireless Technology

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

Natrona Heights, Pa. – Allegheny Valley Hospital (AVH) began offering wireless technology in certain areas of the hospital on September 1. The wireless technology at the hospital was updated in patient care areas to enhance physician and employee network access to patient information for clinical care.
The availability of wireless also gives patients and visitors guest wireless access, similar to what is available in airports and other retail locations. Currently guest or open wireless is available in the Emergency Department, Ambulatory Surgery Center and on the nursing units of the main hospital campus.
Physicians will need to use their VPN remote access to obtain a secure connection to patient information available on the network. Patients and visitors will be asked accept a liability agreement prior to obtaining the wireless access.
