Welcome to the September issue of Integrated Medicine eNews!
Welcome back!
It’s a busy time of year for us all – summer is winding down, days are getting shorter, kids are back to school and before we know it, our stress levels will be sky high!
The Integrated Medicine Program is here to help you manage your stress. Our services can help to address the root causes of your stress, recognize and manage the symptoms and find healthy ways to diminish its effects and recurrence. In fact, our featured service this month is Ayurveda – a 5,000-year-old practice of natural healing that is native to India – which can introduce new ways for you to identify and decrease your stress level through a variety of programs offered by Dr. Lina Thakar, an Ayurvedic physician. You can learn more about Ayurveda and its many health benefits in this month’s “Featured Service” article.
Of course, our program also offers acupuncture, relaxation therapy, yoga, massage therapy, nutritional counseling and other alternatives to decreasing stress and fulfilling your healthy potential.
On behalf of myself and the rest of the Integrated Medicine Program staff, we encourage you to learn about our programs and discuss with your doctors whether these treatments are right for you. We look forward to assisting you in creating a healthy and balanced lifestyle – one that allows you to reach your goals and enjoy life to the fullest.
Sincerely,
Betsy Blazek-O’Neill, MD
