Celebrating the Ultimate Gift of Life -- Through Organ Donation
In celebration of national Donate Life Month, Allegheny General Hospital's Transplant Program brought families of organ donors, living donors and transplant recipients together for a beautiful ceremony recognizing all of those who have bestowed the gift of life to another human being through organ donation. WPAHS Names New President and CEO

Dianne Dismukes, President and Chief Executive Officer of West Penn Allegheny Health System
|
Dianne Dismukes has been announced as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of West Penn Allegheny Health System. She recently joined the System as Executive Vice President for Hospital Operations. In this role, she led all hospital and outpatient care operations for our System, including direct oversight of our five hospitals.
Prior to joining our System officially, she served as the Partner in Charge of the PricewaterhouseCoopers consulting engagement supporting the urban consolidation of Allegheny General Hospital and West Penn Hospital. During that time, Ms. Dismukes also supported patient throughput redesign, labor and productivity and volume growth initiatives. This experience makes her uniquely qualified for her new role at WPAHS.
Ms. Dismukes is an experienced healthcare executive with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare operations, strategic planning, mergers and acquisition, quality and cost improvement, non-labor redesign and technology enablement. Prior to joining West Penn Allegheny, she led the operational, clinical and non-labor operational improvement practices at PricewaterhouseCoopers US Healthcare Advisory Practice and internationally.
Ms. Dismukes received her associate’s degree in nursing from Kilgore College, her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Texas and her Master of Business Administration degree from Baylor University. She is a frequent speaker on clinical, quality and non-labor performance improvement and recently presented “Preparing for JCI Accreditation” to the Arab Health Conference.
