H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) Update

West Penn Allegheny Health System is working closely with local, state and federal health agencies to monitor the emerging worldwide outbreak of the H1N1 influenza (swine flu) virus. The System’s pandemic emergency response team is coordinating all preparations for flu-related patient care, if necessary, at each of the organization’s six hospital campuses.

This site is intended to provide up-to-date news and information about H1N1, including the latest developments from around the world and specific recommendations on flu prevention and treatment from the Centers for Disease Control. To date, no cases of H1N1 have been diagnosed in the greater Pittsburgh region.
