Forbes Regional EMS Staff

Paul Beck, MD EMS Medical Director	Dr. Paul Beck has accepted the position of EMS Medical Director for the Western Pennsylvania Hospital – Forbes Regional Campus. Dr. Beck has been an attending ED physician at Forbes since April of 2006. Dr. Beck’s previous physician appointments include: Associate Medical Director State MedEvac EMS Medical Director Parkview EMS, Mars Area EMS, MEDEVAC EMS, Hampton EMS, Seneca Area EMS and Oklahoma Area EMS Instructor in Emergency Medicine with the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Pittsburgh Prior to completing his medical training Dr. Beck worked as a paramedic with Ross-West View EMSA and served as an Aeromedical Communications Specialist with Allegheny General’s LifeFlight program. He was also a member of Quail Fire Department. Dr. Beck is a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician and is a member of the National Association of EMS Physicians. Dr. Beck that will be concentrating heavily on chart review and proper documentation of patient interactions through EMS Charts. Gary Harvat, Manager, Prehospital Systems	All totaled, Gary has been with the West Penn Allegheny Health System since 1982 serving both at Forbes Regional and Allegheny General Hospital. Gary's role includes managing the Prehospital Department as well as the hospital's patient escort staff. Gary can be reached at 412.858.2089
Tom Kelly, EMS Education Coordinator	Tom Kelly joined Forbes in July of 2007 and is responsible for coordinating educational offerings for prehospital personnel as well as specific clinical staff. Tom's is an instructor in many different prehospital courses and is active on a local, regional and national level with preparedness groups.. Joan Loughran, Department Secretary	Joan has been with Forbes a total of 21 years. Prior to taking over the role as department secretary supporting both pre-hospital and emergency department operations, Joan worked in the ED as a unit secretary. Today, Joan has many pre-hospital responsibilities including maintaining EMS files, processing course registrations and coordinating major EMS events with the hospital. Beth Davis, RN EMS/RN Liaison	Beth Davis has been an emergency department nurse at Forbes Regional over the past 5 of her 21 nursing years. Beth is a CEN and has recently taken on the a new responsibility of EMS/RN Liaison. Beth's role will be to serve as a communicator and facilitator in the department aiding the prehosptial personnel when the arrive.
