Forbes Regional Cardiac Care Initiative
      

Forbes Regional is committed to providing a high degree of care to all patients in our area of service.  As part of our cardiac initiative, Forbes is developing a comprehensive STEMI program with our affiliated EMS providers.  This program enables paramedics to transmit 12-Lead EKGs from the field to a receiving station at the hospital.  Once received, the electronic EKG can be interpreted by ED physicians and cardiologists prior to the patient's arrival.  If determined that the patient is suffering acute cardiac symptoms, the hospital's cath lab can be mobilized and made ready prior to the patient's arrival.  Time saved equates to saved muscle.

This program is slated to begin during the first quarter of 2008.
