AGH-Suburban Campus Hosts Community Classes

Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) – Suburban Campus will host several informative programs throughout the spring as part of the Healthy Living Guest Lecture Series. Each class is open to the public and offered at no cost; however, registration is required.

The following programs will be held at AGH – Suburban Campus in Conference Room 1 on the seventh floor. Free parking is available on site. Valet parking is also available free of charge. Each session offers a complimentary breakfast beginning at 9 a.m.

Topic: You Can Make It Happen – How to Get the Most From Your Next Doctor’s Visit
Date: Wednesday, April 8
Time: 9 a.m.: Complimentary Breakfast
9:30 a.m.: Speaker Presentation
Speaker: John Uribe, M.D., Department of Internal Medicine, will discuss the steps you need to take to prepare for your next doctor’s visit.

Topic: The “Phantom” Stroke – How to Protect Yourself
Date: Wednesday, May 13
Time: 9 a.m.: Complimentary Breakfast
9:30 a.m.: Speaker Presentation
Speaker: John Uribe, M.D., Department of Internal Medicine, will discuss risk factors, signs and symptoms of stroke.

Topic: Hearing Loss/Hearing Aids – Facts and Fiction
Date: Wednesday, June 10
Time: 9 a.m.: Complimentary Breakfast
9:30 a.m.: Speaker Presentation
Speaker: John A. Straka, M.D., Department of Otorhinolaryngology, and Sharon Hall Russo, Au.D, will discuss the anatomy of the ear and hearing aids.

The following programs will be held at the Lutheran Services Society Prime Time Senior Center. On site parking is available, as is street meter parking.

Topic: Macular Degeneration
Date: Thursday, April 2
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Speaker: Lisa Nath, M.D., Department of Ophthalmology, will lead a discussion answering frequently asked questions about the diagnosis of Macular Degeneration, including ‘What is it?,’ ‘How will my vision be affected?’ and ‘What is the treatment?’
