Sewickley Surgeons Join Staff at AGH Suburban Campus
August 24, 2009Allegheny General Hospital – Suburban Campus (AGH – SC) and West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) announced today that Michael D. Felix, MD, FACS, and Geoffrey H. Wilcox, MD, FACS, both of the Surgical Associates of Sewickley, Ltd., have joined the staff at AGH-SC.

As general surgeons, Drs. Felix and Wilcox are experienced in performing laparoscopic chest and peripheral vascular surgeries, implanting pacemakers, and executing a variety of procedures including, but not limited to, cholecystectomy, gastrectomy, colon resection, hernia repairs, appendectomy, Nissen Fundoplication, splenectomy, lung surgery and breast surgery.

The physicians enjoy practicing in a community hospital setting, where they are able to work closely with primary care physicians, nurses and ancillary staff to effectively and efficiently care for their patients. They have also chosen to focus their entire careers in Pennsylvania exclusively.

Dr. Felix earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis College in Loretto, Penn., and his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his General Surgery residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery; is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons; and is professionally affiliated with the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Wilcox earned both his Bachelor of Science and medical degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. His internship and residency in general surgery were also completed at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also professionally affiliated with the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
