Advanced Wound Healing and Lymphedema Center

The mission of this hospital-based, outpatient center is to provide comprehensive wound care and lymphedema management in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region utilizing a coordinated team approach. This is accomplished through a skilled group of medical and rehabilitation professionals with complementary areas of expertise. It is considered a specialized center of excellence, designated for the management of chronic wounds. Evaluation, treatment and assessment of progress are based upon current scientific research and strive to be cost-effective.

The patient’s family doctor is consulted and included as a vital part of the healing process. Management of the wound include education for patients, families and caregivers for home follow-through and to prevent recurrence. Our staff are committed to providing state-of-the-art wound and lymphedema management, while caring for the whole person. This outpatient center is an ideal setting to perform clinical research for improved wound care procedures and new technologies. We use collected outcomes data to monitor and improve our protocols.
