West Penn Burn Center is the only burn center in the region that is ABA/ACS-verified to care for pediatric as well as adult patients.

Established in 1969, West Penn Burn Center has been the region’s leading burn center and is the only burn center in southwestern Pa. verified by the American Burn Association (ABA) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) for care of both adult and pediatric burn patients - and the only burn center in Pennsylvania to earn ABA/ACS verification five times.
Only burn centers that provide the highest quality of patient care and meet the ABA’s demanding standards for personnel, facilities, clinical resources and medical care services (just 60 nationwide) earn this verification.
Burn patients are admitted directly to West Penn Burn Center's state-of-the-art inpatient Burn Unit and stay in the Burn Unit from admission until discharge; they are followed up in our Outpatient Burn Clinic adjacent to the Burn Unit. Learn more about West Penn Burn Center:
