Endocrine Cancer

Endocrine tumors occur in the glands of the endocrine system, which is made up of the thyroid, adrenal, pituitary and parathyroid glands. These glands produce hormones that are essential for the body’s growth, metabolism and sexual development. Tumors of the endocrine system can be benign or malignant.

At Allegheny Health System, we offer a team approach to bringing about the best and latest in cancer research and treatments, placing us on the leading edge of detecting and treating these rare cancers.

As a designated a Blue Distinction Center for Complex and Rare Cancers, we offer programs for a number of complex and rare sub-types of cancer including adrenal, parathyroid, pituitary and thyroid cancer.
