Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation (or afib) is the most common type of irregular heartbeat—yet not all types of afib are easily diagnosed. What’s more, many doctors don’t understand the prevalence, severity and risks of this condition. Without proper treatment, afib increases your risk of stroke five-fold, has a central role in the development of congestive heart failure and may significantly impair quality of life.
The Cardiovascular Institute, along with several other major medical centers across the country, has been successfully treating AF with medical options and state-of-the-art technology for the past decade.
