Allegheny General Hospital offers world-class tertiary care for a full spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. AGH specializes in the treatment of patients who have more acute, complex cardiovascular diseases. A national leader in complex operations such as heart transplants, LVAD procedures, repairs of the aorta and aneurysm surgeries, AGH is uniquely qualified to treat patients who need more extensive critical care following surgery.

For the convenience of patients, the Cardiovascular Institute’s main location at Allegheny General Hospital encompasses three clinical centers and additional cardiology offices:

Center for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CVI-I)
Provides pre- and post-operative consultation for patients undergoing open heart, thoracic and vascular surgery as well as vascular lab testing and specialty wound and lymphedema care.

Center for Cardiovascular Medicine (CVI-II)
Provides advanced heart failure, heart transplant and pulmonary hypertension consultation as well as pacemaker and AICD follow-up.

Center for General Cardiology (CV–III)
Provides general cardiology consultative services including office appointments, echocardiography, and stress testing.

Interventional Cardiology Offices (IV)

Forbes Regional Hospital provides tertiary care in a community setting—primarily for patients who do not require prolonged critical care following surgery. The Ed Dardanell Heart and Vascular Center offers a full complement of sophisticated cardiovascular services, including:

Canonsburg General Hospital provides a variety of outpatient cardiovascular services:

• EP Device Clinic, where patients with life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias can be evaluated and treated with traditional pacemakers and implantable defibrillators (AICDs)
• Women's Heart Program, offering cardiologist assessment of women's cardiac health, diagnostic testing and treatment
