Forbes Hospice

Welcome

As life comes to a close, we open our hearts.

Since we opened our doors, we have helped thousands of terminally ill people live each day to its fullest, surrounded by the comfort of home, family and friends. In the very early days of our program, we cared for an average of five patients each day. Today, we serve on average 125 patients each day and 1,600 new patients each year.

Forbes Hospice is the oldest and most trusted nonprofit hospice and palliative care program in the Pittsburgh region. We have a wealth of experience in delivering comprehensive hospice care to the community and feature nationally-recognized leadership, including a full-time medical director, board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine, who can make house calls at patients' homes or in facilities.

Forbes Hospice’s team of caregivers offers a compassionate, loving approach to meeting the needs of our patients and their families. At a time when families are faced with the burden of caregiving and emotional stress, we are there to help them in their time of need. The focus of our care is to create a comfortable and peaceful environment in which the patient may live each day to the fullest. Because our staff takes the time to address all of the family's needs, both medical and emotional, they often forge bonds that families never forget.

We also understand that a serious illness affects the entire family and our compassionate support and guidance are offered to them as well. After their loss, we provide spiritual and psychological support through our Bereavement Program.

At Forbes Hospice, as life comes to a close, we open our hearts. When a cure is no longer possible, we are able to provide comfort. When you don’t know what to expect, we will be there to help you every step of the way.
