Infectious Disease

Physicians in the Division of Infectious Disease diagnose and treat diseases caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses and other agents and work to prevent the spread of these diseases.

Our team is active in research to develop improved treatment methods, particulary for diseases that have grown resistant to antibiotics and for patients with weakened immune systems. We're also studying specfic bacterial substances that complicate diagnosis and treatment of infections and working to eliminate them.
