Headache
The AGH Department of Neurology is composed of 11 neurologists who diagnose and manage the entire spectrum of headache disorders including migraine, mixed headache syndrome, cluster headache, and secondary headache disorders.
Over 28 million adults suffer from migraine, the majority of whom (70 percent) are women, according to the National Headache Foundation. Chronic recurring headaches can be severely debilitating and compromise both work and school performance.
Over 150 headache specific disorders have been described by the International Headache Society and have been primarily divided into primary and secondary headache disorders.
Primary headache disorders include:
- Tension type headache
- Migraine
- Mixed headache syndrome
- Cluster headache
Secondary headache disorders include:
- Sinus headache
- Hormone headache
- Chronic progressive headache
