Foot and Ankle
Nearly everyone will experience a foot and/or ankle problem during their lifetime. While some problems are congenital, many are caused by injury, illnesses such as diabetes or arthritis, poor-fitting shoes, or simply wear and tear over time.
We are recognized by many as the premier provider of basic and complex foot, ankle and lower leg care in the region. Our specialists have extensive training and many years of experience treating foot and ankle pain. We believe that great foot care stems from giving patients a proper diagnosis and education of their problem, using terms and illustrations they can understand.
Treatment always begins with a discussion of non-operative care. We use a team approach, including consultations with pedorthists (experts on shoe wear), orthotists (experts on bracing options), nurses and physical therapists to individualize treatment. As an added convenience, many of these healthcare providers are present in the clinic during your visit. If a surgical procedure becomes the best alternative, our team will use the latest surgical procedures to you get back on your feet as soon as possible. For patients who are experiencing ongoing problems following a prior foot surgery, we employ innovative revision surgical procedures to decrease pain and restore mobility.
We treat a wide variety of foot conditions, including:
- Bunions
- Bunionettes
- Hammertoes
- Neuromas
- Fractures of the foot, ankle or lower leg
- Reconstructive surgery related to trauma
- Sports injuries
- Arthritis
- Diabetic foot problems
- Tendon disorders
- Flatfoot/high arches
- Nerve problems
- Dance injuries
- Injured workers
Our goal is to decrease pain and restore function, whether the best solution is non-operative treatment or a surgical procedure. Whether you are an adolescent or an octogenarian, a sedentary office worker or a professional ballerina, or just concerned enough to get a medical opinion, our physicians will give you the personal attention you deserve.
