The Armstrong Center for Medicine and Health is part of a leading academic radiation oncology center, Allegheny General Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology, and one of 9 radiation oncology clinics integrating and optimizing patient care within the Allegheny Health System Radiation Oncology Network.  Patients and referring physicians at Armstrong Center for Medicine and Health can be confident that they have access to one of the region’s and nation’s leading radiation oncology department’s programs, staff, training, equipment, and expertise to help ensure continual state-of-the-art care in their community, and when necessary, tertiary care at Allegheny General Hospital for specialty procedures that can further improve their care.

The cancer care team at the Richard G. Laube Cancer Center at Armstrong Center for Medicine and Health is a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art healthcare to our patients.

In addition to aggressive and sophisticated treatment, the team is committed to treating the "total patient" while incorporating the patient's family into the cancer management process.
High tech meets high touch at the Richard G. Laube Cancer Center.  The center also participates in national clinical trials and, with assistance from the ACMH Foundation, maintains a significant presence in the community through a variety of free educational, screening and prevention programs.
Highlights of the program include:
  • State-of-the-art Siemens Linear Accelerator with IMRT providing the latest treatment options in radiation therapy

  • Public education on cancer prevention as well as free yearly breast and prostate cancer screenings for the uninsured

  • Full-time clinical research nurse coordinating clinical trial participation including, but not limited to, NSABP and ECOG

  • Compassionate, dedicated care team including oncology certified nurses

  • Monthly support groups and personalized care
