Fun Walk in Memory of James A. Magovern, MD to Support Cardiac Research and Education
You can help support the memory of James A. Magovern, MD, and his efforts to raise awareness and funds in support of cardiovascular research and education by participating in the Hearts in the Park Walk. This family-friendly (and dog friendly) event includes an easy two-mile walk through Allegheny Commons Park, the “heart” of Pittsburgh’s historic North Side and “back yard” for Allegheny General Hospital. Proceeds benefit the Gerald McGinnis Cardiovascular Institute’s Center for Research and Innovation. Get more information or register for this event via the Hearts in the Park button on the right.

An Evening with author and commentator Michael Beschloss
Join award-winning historian Michael Beschloss as he presents a unique glimpse into the active mind of one of our country’s most fascinating first ladies. Mr. Beschloss will talk about Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy—a New York Times best-seller he co-authored with Caroline Kennedy.
Author of nine highly acclaimed books about the U.S. presidency and American politics, Mr. Beschloss weaves colorful anecdotes and brilliant inside analysis of U.S. presidents with an informed, detailed understanding of their leadership styles. He also serves as the NBC News’ Presidential Historian, appears regularly on “Meet the Press” and “Today,” and is a frequent commentator on “PBS NewsHour.”
