Supporting the Education of Tomorrow’s Physician
In June of 2011 the Temple University School of Medicine and West Penn Allegheny Health System jointly announced the establishment of four-year medical school to be established on Pittsburgh’s Northside adjacent to Allegheny General Hospital. With enrollment set to begin in fall of 2013 establishment of the school is well underway. Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in the school’s establishment through funding to support capital needs such as new classrooms and technology, endowed funds for professorships and student support, as well as operating support for the school’s everyday expenses. Physicians trained at the Temple University School of Medicine at West Penn Allegheny Health System will play a vital role in the future of western Pennsylvania.
