President & CEO
BJ Leber is President and CEO of the Western Pennsylvania Hospital Foundation and Vice President of Fund Development for the West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS). She is also the Interim President and CEO of the Forbes Health Foundation which supports Forbes Hospital in Monroeville and the Forbes Hospice.
Prior to West Penn, BJ served as the Interim President and CEO of the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh and Chief of Staff to Pittsburgh Mayor Bob O’Connor.
BJ spent eleven years in senior management at WQED Multimedia, Pittsburgh’s public broadcaster. She oversaw a financial, operational and programmatic turnaround that resulted in a transition from bankruptcy to financial solvency and a return to community relevance. Prior to WQED, BJ started the first-ever marketing and business development effort at Port Authority of Allegheny County. This effort resulted in ridership and revenue increases, an enhanced public image, a new corporate culture and national recognition. BJ began her career in advertising and commercial television and radio.
BJ is President of the Western PA Chapter of the International Women’s Forum and Vice Chair of the Brother’s Brother Foundation. She is on the board of the Highmark Caring Foundation. She is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy Mid-East Regional Cabinet, Duquesne University’s School of Education Advisory Board and the Advisory Council of the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. She is a past board chair of Pressley Ridge Schools, VisitPittsburgh and Leadership Pittsburgh.
She is a member of the adjunct faculty of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
BJ lives in the Highland Park area of Pittsburgh with her husband Jeff. They have two grown sons.
