Our dedicated obstetric and neonatal healthcare professionals provide high-quality, compassionate care in state-of-the-art facilities, including comfortable and spacious birthing suites. We are equipped to handle routine pregnancies and deliveries, as well as those that are more complex. In fact, our hospitals (West Penn Hospital and Forbes Regional Hospital) serve as regional referral centers for high-risk pregnancies and maternal fetal medicine. A level III neonatal intensive care unit – the highest and most sophisticated level of care possible for premature infants – is available at West Penn Hospital, and a level II neonatal intensive care unit is available at Forbes Regional Hospital. West Penn Allegheny Health System also offers life-saving, regional neonatal air and ground transport services. Additionally, the area’s first Infant Apnea Center was created at West Penn Hospital years ago and continues to evaluate, manage and monitor at-risk babies and young children.
