Gynecology Services at AGH

Allegheny General's obstetricians and gynecologists are among the regions most respected and innovative surgeons, offering advanced techniques and proven minimally invasive procedures for urinary incontinence, endometriosis and pelvic problems. These surgeons use electrosurgical resectoscopes and thermal energy, including cryotherapy, for the conservative treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding. They also perform laparoscopic procedures, using tools that include harmonic scalpels, endocoagulators and a CO2 laser.

To facilitate same-day procedures and shorter hospital stay, a dedicated gynecologic surgery outpatient unit is on the floor below the OB-GYN operating rooms. Staff members on this unit endeavor to provide a seamless passage for patients undergoing gynecologic surgery at Allegheny General.
