Newborn Nursery

The Newborn Nursery is located centrally and the medical, nursing and support staff encourage you to spend as much time as you want with your newborn. Allegheny General supports a "family centered care" philosophy.  AGH offers 24 hour rooming-in option upon request, allowing the infant to remain in their mothers' rooms throughout their stay. 

The staff also provides education for new mothers on caring for yourself and your baby after discharge. You can place a photo of your baby in our Cybernursery, which makes digital photos available to our families internationally.

Allegheny General Hospital also features an accredited Level III Intensive Care Nursery (ICN), equipped to provide the highest level of comprehensive intensive care for extremely premature neonates and infants with medical or surgical problems.
