Research
There's no denying the impact of research on developing new, effective ways to treat such conditions as heart disease, cancer and brain disorders. Now, with the recent establishment of an active research program, Allegheny General's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is studying innovative medications and surgical aids that may change the way some common gynecologic problems are treated.
Typically, participants receive study medication free of charge and are required to undergo several related examinations and tests.
These research studies add a vital dimension to the services we offer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. By participating in these studies, women may help improve their lives and those of other women who may benefit from a promising new treatment.
For questions about research studies in the OB/GYN Department, please contact Rita Raymond, C.R.N.P. at 412-359-3183 or email her at RRAYMOND@wpahs.org.
