West Penn Burn Center

For more than 30 years, The Western Pennsylvania Hospital's Burn Center has been the region's leading burn center. It is currently the region's only burn center to have received verification from the American Burn Association and has been verified four times.

West Penn Burn Center is a leader in teaching and research as well as in the care of burned patients. The Center has treated more than 7,000 inpatients and 10,000 outpatients, placing the Center among the top burn care facilities in the United States.

West Penn's history of success in treating burn patients is enhanced by the Burn Center's commitment to research in areas such as wound care, resuscitation and psychological implications of burn injuries. Such research has led to more sophisticated patient care at West Penn Burn Center - a model for other burn centers worldwide.
