Curriculum Overview

The Family Practice Service is a combined inpatient and outpatient rotation directed by the full- time Family Practice Faculty and includes inpatient responsibilities for all patients admitted from the Family Health Center practice.

The conference schedule provides continuity and emphasis on the principles of family medicine; residents are excused from other responsibilities in order to attend.

Residents are assigned additional time in the Family Health Center for special training in procedures, sports medicine and other outpatient skills.

Vacation is 3 weeks per year (including one week holiday leave in December/January). Second and third-year residents also receive a $1,000 travel allowance and an additional week of educational leave.

Osteopathic residents attend weekly osteopathic manipulation treatment clinics and a monthly OMT lecture series.
