First year residents will take buddy call several times in November and December. Call begins in January of year one. Weekday call starts at 5:00 p.m. and ends the following morning at 8:00 a.m. The resident is expected to attend morning conference and is given the post-call day off once the on-call ER plain films are read out with an attending. Weekend call starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends the following day at 8:00 a.m. Again, the resident is expected to read out the on-call ER plain films with the weekend attending and is then given the post call day off.
