During the Lamaze course, nationally certified instructors work with expectant mothers and fathers to help plan for childbirth, discuss options and prepare for the discomforts of labor and delivery. Parents-to-be will learn about birth and what to expect when mom comes to the hospital. Exercise, massage, relaxation, breathing and other pain management techniques will be taught. 

It is recommended that expectant parents attend these classes in the last two to three months of pregnancy.

This 4-session class series is held monthly. Due to limited class size, you are encouraged to register for this class during your second trimester.

Class fee (Hospital tour included) is $90 per couple. To register, 412-578-7030 and pay by credit card or send in a printed form with check. Reduced Fee Package: Register for the following three classe and save $15.00, Lamaze, Baby Care Basics and Breastfeeding for $160 per couple.

Refund Policy: Refunds are granted in case of premature delivery or medical complications. West Penn Hospital must receive a letter from your physician explaining the reason for the refund. Refunds are pro-rated to reimburse only those classes not attended. A refund for nonmedical reasons must be requested at least 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the class.
